Kelly Ryan, LMFT has a long history of representing therapeutic programs including wilderness therapy, residential treatment, therapeutic boarding schools, recovery and transition programs for teens and young adults. Kelly loves working directly with families and has a passion for working with adolescents and young adults. She brings a great deal of expertise and depth of experience to families in providing guidance through the evaluation, assessment and placement process.

Placement Process:

GPS Family Consulting works closely and collaboratively with your family, school, community and other professionals to complete an objective assessment. We will make recommendations regarding the best program and school options, level of care and right path for your child and family.

GPS Family Consulting receives referrals from Psychiatrists, Therapists, Schools, Hospitals, Programs, and Parents who are working with a family and realize that they may need a higher level of care. This typically is due to minimal gains in traditional settings like out patient therapy, psychiatric hospitals, and other community resources.

Kelly is hired by the family to be objective and impartial and receives no referral fees from any programs. She works closely and collaboratively with the home treatment team, school, and family to be thorough in her assessment and evaluation of the student’s needs in all areas considering academic profile, clinical needs, hobbies, interests, and goals. She always takes a strength based approach and targets the positive attributes and desires for each family.

Kelly Ryan engages with families for a full year in a variety of roles: Assessment, school placement recommendations, case management, advocacy, and transition planning. It’s taken her years to develop the expertise and skill set to be uniquely qualified to walk families through the evaluation, assessment and placement process.
